Ark Data Centres Ltd founded in 2005 securely house the equipment, data and networks that drive the technology that powers the operations of UK-based businesses. They are also the joint venture partner of the government in Crown Hosting Data Centres Limited. The business required a new BMS installation in plantrooms, data centres and critical building services equipment.

Syscom took up the responsibility of carrying out these new BMS requirements. The BMS for all three data centres were installed concurrently over a 7-month period. The chosen BMS was a Tridium system including a N4 head end server. Allowing all the buildings to be controlled from one point. Tier 3 N+1 network between outstations/MCCs and building BMS network server. To overcome the challenge of achieving concurrent maintainability of all critical mechanical plant service involved redundant power supplies, controls, and monitoring. Despite this added challenge, the project was completed to the client’s satisfaction.
